Happy Mother's Day

Some events are hard to put in to words and some posts are very difficult for me to relive as I tell our story.  Please be patient as I struggle to spare you some of the grizzly details and my very raw emotions.

For those of you just tuning in and wondering what I am rambling about, I hope you will read my earlier posts and catch up with our story......sometimes truth really is stranger than fiction!
For those of you who have been along for the whole wild ride, thanks for hanging with me!
I would very much appreciate your thoughts and comments.....it helps to know someone is out there!

I love you momma!
RIP

Soon I will continue our story;
Share more of my fears.
I’ll cover the triumphs;
and visit times we said "cheers"!
But, for today, I have little to say
Except Happy Mother’s Day!

Have medicare pay half of what they would pay a nursing home, to a relative caregiver. For so many families, the financial burden of quitting their job to take care of a loved one is the main reason they put them in a nursing facility. They're providing a safe home, meals, transportation, errands, housekeeping, medication reminders, bathing assistance, everything a nursing home would do. Think if we could take almost half of the elderly OUT of nursing homes, and pay HALF that amount to a family caregiver...it's a win win.

I couldn't agree with you more on this one. The amount of money family caregivers save medicare (and other insurance companies) is mind boggling. Just as mind boggling is the amount of money we personally use while caring for a loved one.
